Music On The Go With The Apple iPhone

iPhone storage full when using iCloud music *fix* - John Large ...If you didn’t do a good enough job selecting your preferred genres and artists when you first launched the Music app, you can give yourself a second chance. Go to the For You tab, then tap your profile photo in the top right to open your account page. Then just tap Choose Artists for You, and you’ll get to do the whole thing again.Remember, tap once to like a genre or artist, tap again to really like it, and tap and hold to make the ones you don’t care for disappear. Slide the display back and forth with your finger, and on the artist screen you can tap More Artists to see additional choices.

One of the lesser explained new features with the Apple Music Launch is iCloud Music Library. When you launch the new version of iTunes, you’re asked if you want to enable iCloud Music Library. When you do, Apple Music scans your iTunes library, then adds the Apple Music streaming versions of those songs to your Apple Music account. Essentially, it gives you full access to your iTunes MP3s (as long as they’re in Apple’s system), without wasting space on your phone. Once you let iTunes scan your library, you might need to toggle the service on and off on your iOS device before it recognizes it. Head to Settings > Music > iCloud Music Library to do so.

See larger image Sing along No more Googling a song to figure out if Taylor Swift is singing “Starbucks lovers” or “long list of ex-lovers” (it should be the former but it’s definitely the latter). iOS 10 brought lyrics to Apple Music, so you can sing along and sound like you know every line to every song. The mini-player used to be just a screen with some album artwork and an ellipses icon to access more options—very bare bones. Now when you swipe up from the Now Playing screen, you’ll see a song’s lyrics (which you can easily hide), song credits, and tracks that are playing next. I’m still not exactly sure how to song along with Kiiara’s “Gold,” but I’m closer now than I was before. Thanks, Apple Music! Next Prev

In the beats app, there was a way to set the app into offline mode, and thus listen to the music you'd downloaded onto your phone, and not use your data to stream. But the phone itself was still connected.

In the beats app, there was a way to set the app into offline mode, and thus listen to the music you'd downloaded onto your phone, and not use your data to stream. But the phone itself was still connected. I haven't found a similar way to do this in the apple music app. The only thing I've been able to do is go into airplane mode and then listen to the music I've made available offline. I'm hoping there's a better way to go "offline" within the app itself, so I can still get calls / texts etc. while I'm listening to my music in offline mode. I also don't want to have to continuously log in and out of my account. A simple button to go "offline" would be great - does anyone know if this is possible?
